Things you loved. Things we miss.

Sand under your feet and between your toes. A fresh cut lemon. A hug from one of your children and grandchildren. Shrimp fried rice and the 2.00 for extra shrimp. Folcroft Pizza special you guys would get at the house. The Folcroft Pool (402). Driving around down the shore. The sound under your tires from the gravel as you entered Seaville shores. The smell of burning wood near the trailer. The Can. The Biscuit. Your many scapes. Your front lawn and gardening. Saying hi to Pat, Suggy, Mr. Zinser, Aggie, Gene. Talking to Heather and her family. A good deal. A fresh Wawa pretzel and Pepsi. A good meal with any of us. A meal from the Erin. Probably a seafood combo. Being on your phone checking real estate listings. Your many boards on Pinterest. Dreaming about possibilities in life. Smell of gravy in the pot with meat-a-balls and pork and sausage. A Reuben at some new spot Newport…every part of it. The Wind

I’m sitting here on my couch. The wind howling outside my window. A city truck rumbling down the road. Cars coming down the street. Ending the week. I think about you. Driving around in your little Toyota. Bought and paid for by you. You were so proud of that. Of course you were looking for another car right after paying it off. I think of all the daily stuff you did. How I would give my heart to see you behind the wheel coming towards me. I would give anything to take this sadness of missing you away. I would give anything for you to be here and tell me things will get better. This life without you around, it is not easy. The daily joy sometimes fleeting....or just not present. I feel I am getting to a better place. Again cleaned out some people from my life. It always feels good to just drop the negativity from my life. I miss your calls and your voice. I miss the plans you would set out for the day, run your errands, get your pretzel and soda and call me from your car. Those daily ...

Nature

I liked this. It reminded me of what brings me happiness and what shall do so again. I don't have much to write today. Just going through the motions. I can't believe it will be a year in a few weeks Time does not stop. It sometimes feels like a repeating cycle. I hope where you are, you're happy, warm, and surround by beauty with the sun shining in your face. I miss you. Bobby. A plan for days ahead... In nature, you leave yourself behind. You are nobody in the woods. When faced with a particularly difficult problem, I find it’s always healthier to just get out of the house and go for a walk rather than trying to force the answer. For in the repetition of walking you empty yourself out, free yourself of opinion and expectation, and embody once again humanity’s innate character. In this state of emptiness, your mind begins to clear — and then the gods descend to fill the void. Freedom of movement stimulates the mind, bringing forth divine wisdom. A free body is ...

A cross

Saw two good signs today driving up to get my lunch. It’s been a weird day. Just kind of whatever. The past weekend was truly just overwhelming. A viewing on Friday and a family hurting. A person I crossed paths with passing away Friday night. Then friend of a friend died Sunday. All just making me realize that there is no going around tragedy; you just have to walk right through it. More and more I feel just we continue to climb up this mountain called life. One of my favorite Judah and The Lion songs came on and I was singing at the top of my lungs as it blasted. It makes me feel good to play music and sing again. I was pulling into a parking spot and drove past a tow truck. I had seen tow trucks lots of times. This one had the hook just flat vertical on the back. It was just the same height and dimension as a cross. Part of me was like I have never seen a tow truck like that. As I came out of the second store, I passed a car with a vanity plate that read LUV – HER. I got into my...
